Course Overview
This 6-week course is designed to introduce you to the captivating world of Stage Tango, focusing on technique, movement, and choreography. This course will help you develop the key elements needed for stage performance, including posture, embrace, dramatic movement and partner connection.
By the end of the course, you will have learned and refined a short, stage-ready choreography, ready to showcase your newfound skills with confidence and flair.
What You will Learn
Here’s a breakdown of what each week will cover:
Week 1: Fundamentals of Stage Tango
Focus: Posture, embrace, and strong tango walks.
Choreography: Learn a foundational sequence with walks and transitions.
Week 2: Crosses, Boleos & Lapices
Focus: Master precise crosses, boleos, and lapices.
Choreography: Integrate dynamic footwork into your routine.
Week 3: Contra-Body Movement & Extension
Focus: Rotational control and dramatic body extensions.
Choreography: Incorporate contra-body movements and extensions.
Week 4: Musical Interpretation & Dramatic Moves
Focus: Spins, giros, calesitas, and colgadas.
Choreography: Add musicality and dramatic flair to your performance.
Week 5: Partner Work & Synchronisation
Focus: Refine partner connection, poses, and dips.
Choreography: Enhance partner work with fluid transitions and striking poses.
Week 6: Performance Polish
Focus: Lift exercises and polishing your choreography.
Choreography: Rehearse the full routine with attention to stage presence and timing.
